The dappliest dachshund
Little Ladybird is a mini dachshund with a huge personality. She was a bit hesitant at first about being photographed at our Austin studio but warmed up quickly and was confidently posing to show her best side. (Actually, all of her sides are her best sides.) We started on white seamless paper so that she could wander around and be well lit wherever she landed.
Ladybird's first pose -- tentative, curious, or just looking for treats?
It didn't take Ladybird long to warm up. She was already smiling for her second shot! And, look at that head tilt!
She soon figured out that I had the treats and made her move -- slowly. She almost tiptoed as if she was trying to sneak up on me.
On the move
Ladybird raised her paw often during her session. She can even wave on command, which you'll see later.
Such a gorgeous coat
Since Ladybird is a little thing, we were able to place her in a copper pot to complement her gorgeous coat. What a stunning girl!
Going green
We were having such a good time photographing this wee one and thought she'd look great against a green background. She did not disappoint! Look at her waving!
Modeling is hard work
Dachshunds were not bred to be models. In fact, they were actually bred to hunt badgers, and according to the AKC, packs of them were bred to hunt wild boar! That's hard work!
Ladybird worked hard too, even if it was indoors and on fluffy blankets. Time to say goodbye -- or maybe just good night!
Interested in having your dog photographed with us?
We're actually holding mini sessions using the same green background that was used with Ladybird the weekend of March 14th and 15th to benefit Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. Your can book your session here.
