This is the fourth blog post in a series of on location sessions with dogs all over Austin as part of the Tails of the World book project.
Who is only 14 inches tall, yet takes command of a room upon entrance? Moby!
Moby's session was held on the grounds of the Blanton Museum of Art, which provided the perfect backdrop for a small dog like him amidst the Petals that towered above him. Talk about a juxtaposition! Moby might be small, but he is definitely mighty!
You tell 'em, Moby!
Moby arrived with several outfit changes, of course. This little dog is quite the fashionista! We started with a colorfully patterned T-shirt topped by an adorable jean jacket.
Is this my best side?
The grounds of the Blanton are well kept and the layout provides very interesting lines. A photographer's dream! The exterior of the museum is a work of art in itself, and photographing a dog like Moby there was an absolute joy. There are so many fun spots in which to "pose" a dog.
Moby's side eye game is STRONG.
Who can resist this face?
It was time for an outfit change, and Moby selected a striped sweater. Sleeves rolled up, of course!
Hey lady! Where's my treat?
Moby ponders how to solve the world's problems.
Still in his striped sweater, we moved on to a different area. The sunlight was streaming in and casting beautiful shadows on the green wall pictured below.
Moby was getting tired, so we took a break on some of the red chairs on the lawn. I probably shouldn't say "we." It was really just Moby that took a break. His mom and I were busy choosing the next outfit.
Pink looks good on you, Moby!
There was one more shot to get, and that was with Moby standing under the Petals with the Texas State Capitol in the background. Just look at the confidence in this little guy! He is ready to take on the world . . . or at least his next snack.
Moby accepts votes in the form of snackies.
Stay tuned for our next blog post about this project!
It will feature another wee little one named after a flower.
The 2025 edition of Tails of the World will be available for purchase on November 1, 2025. The proceeds from the book sales will go to the Geelong Animal Welfare Society in Australia.
